At the heart of this composition lies Saga Nishiki, a historic textile in which fine strands of gold paper are meticulously woven into silk. The result is a surface of remarkable luminosity — structured, reflective, and jewel-like in depth.

Set against a softly shimmering screen finished with Sakura-haku (cherry-blossom foil), the woven gold catches light with quiet brilliance.

The Textile — Saga Nishiki

Both the Emperor and Empress are dressed in matching robes crafted from 100% silk Saga Nishiki.

Gold paper threads are carefully interlaced into the weave, creating a textile that glows rather than sparkles — controlled, dignified, and architecturally composed.

So precious is this fabric that even master artisans hesitate before cutting into it.

The Anzu Expression

As with classical Hina faces, restraint allows nuance to emerge gradually.
